About
Welcome to La Leñita Empanadas, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Buenos Aires at Azcuénaga 1741. This charming eatery has quickly captured the hearts and taste buds of locals and visitors alike, and for good reason. La Leñita distinguishes itself with a delightful selection of empanadas that stand out amongst the myriad of options in this vibrant city.
What truly sets La Leñita apart is the exceptional flavor profiles of their offerings. Diners rave about the Tucumana and the Sfija, two popular choices that are fattened with juicy fillings and a crispy outer layer. The balance of seasoning and freshness is evident in every bite, making these empanadas a must-try for anyone venturing to experience authentic Argentinian cuisine.
As Jim Sherman aptly points out, after sampling the empanadas at La Leñita, other establishments pale in comparison. His sentiment is echoed by Elisa Keese, who reflects on her two-month stay in Argentina, declaring La Leñita’s empanadas as some of the best in the country. The reasonable price of 3.200 pesos (around 2.35 USD) for such quality is a pleasant surprise, reinforcing the excellent value this place provides.
But it isn’t just the food that impresses. The ambiance at La Leñita is equally noteworthy. With an engaging, amphitheater-style seating arrangement, patrons can enjoy a cozy dining experience without feeling cramped. The thoughtful interior design adds a layer of charm, as noted by several guests including Kief, who appreciated the neat decor and vibrant atmosphere.
The service, too, receives high marks. Customers rave about the friendly, attentive staff who elevate the dining experience. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with warmth, making your visit all the more enjoyable. As Julio Barrero and Jorge Figueroa highlight, the staff’s helpfulness and courtesy leave a lasting impression, ensuring that each meal feels special.
In a city rich with culinary diversity, La Leñita Empanadas emerges as a standout destination for anyone looking to indulge in authentic, delicious empanadas. Whether you’re a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, this cozy eatery promises a flavorful journey and a welcoming experience that will keep you coming back for more.
“ Great empanadas -- best so far I've had in B A and the problem is they were the first so that means the others have so far been disappointing. And on top of that, such a great value. Very cool interior design, I sort of wish my house were like this. Interesting amphitheater style seating in such a small space-- very small yet not cramped, very cozy. But I was very impressed with the two super friendly and helpful , that were working there in the afternoon of Mon 17 June because they explained the menu and put up with my terrible castellano AND gave me a bunch of answers to my non-empanada questions about where I can find certain things I needed to get settled, e.g., they turned me on the Coto. Excellent service!!! ”
“ Some of the best empanadas I have had here in Argentina, and I’ve been here two months. I had the Tucumana and the Sfija. Each empanadas is 3.200 pesos (about 2.35 USD). A little bit more expensive than I have paid elsewhere but genuinely so worth it. The staff was very sweet and the seating area was very cute. 10/10 recommend! ”
“ The young lady in the front “Nicole” was extremely helpful and courteous. Great experience. ”
“ By far the best empanadas y sandwiches in Buenos Aires, La Leñita, en Recoleta. The girl that is the cashier and serves was above and beyond. Highly recommended. ”
“ The food was fresh and delicious. The service was exceptional. ”
